Young people get the web. Older people, not so much. It's that simple. Forrester Research has published a new report, “The Seven Tenets of the Information Workspace,” with the recommendation that businesses should seek out "millennials," those born between 1980 and 2000, to help them make sense of Web 2.0 technologies and practices. Here's a post on ZDNet about the report.
Seriously, is there any question about this generational gap? Think about any of the flagships and who’s behind them, excluding VCs, of course.
The evolution of the the Web is different than traditional tech. The consumer leads. The office is generally behind. And the only consumers that really matter on the Web are these millennials.
Our kids know more about the Web than our colleagues. What else could explain why “Enterprise 2.0” is now the hot thing just as “Web 2.0” is fading?
